The Module
It all starts with the Roland TD9 Percussion Sound Module. This is the backbone of Roland’s mid-line V-Drums kits. It’s packed with hundreds of sounds, real-audio songs and patterns on board, and includes a Scope and Quick Record/Quick Play practice function. It has full V-Hi-Hat compatibility and 3-way ride triggering capability.
What Is A Drum Module
An Electronic Drum Module is the “Brain” of the whole operation. All electronic drum kits require a drum module in order for the thing to work. There are many type of modules and the Roland TD-9 Drum Module is an upscale mid-level model.
All of your pads and cymbals plug into a harness which is then connected to the module. The module contains over 500 drum instrument sounds and you “assign” sounds to the pads. The module then synthesizes those sounds and there you have it.
The TD-9 has a total of 12 inputs, which means you can have up to twelve separate pads and cymbals which makes for a pretty nice kit.
Roland TD9 Display
What a nice large screen. The TD-9 is fitted with a splended, large display with a back-light. It has oversized buttons and controls which makes for easy access. Its friendly, icon-based user interface makes editing sounds and customizing kits fast and trouble free.
Interactive Technology
The module includes real audio play along function you can use to play your favorite songs and a USB port which supports audio file of choice such as WAV files. Save your data and use the “quick record” function to record your performance.There is also a quick play feature which lets you record and play back solo drum parts alone or with backing songs.
